The systematic purchase of raw milk began in 1951. Due to the distances to the national market and the limited infrastructure in cooling technology, the production concentrated on the production of butter and cheeses. In the 80s “Lácteos Trebol” installed the first long life milk plant (UHT) in Paraguay. Today more than 150 million liters of raw milk are processed per year. The Cooperativa Chortitzer Ltda. accompanies the production process with technical assitance, loans, milking technologies, ambulant clinic, field days, milk storage service of the dairy farms, marketing and also the distribution and sale of the elaborated products.
